“AMAZING – words fail us to describe how wonderful an oasis this is and how great you were at hosting – above and beyond the call of duty picking us up on our wedding night.
A great wee spot.

“What an absolutely beautiful and serene cottage, and surrounds! From the first moment we made contact with Jonathan and Judith, to the time that we left, their hospitality was very warm and thoughtful.
The setting of this gorgeous cottage, was just a short drive from Hastings. The lie of the land is flat, so a bike ride around the nearby vineyards was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon and try some of the world class local wines. The added extras made this cottage feel like a home, would highly recommend this absolute gem for a peaceful and relaxing break.”

“Where to start? Everything about this little haven was perfect. As hosts your attention to detail is astounding. We really appreciated all of the little touches which made our stay even more special (such as the amazing local produce, soaps and the information you provided). I think I am addicted to Cluster Crisp now though!
We absolutely LOVED our time here!!”
Andre and Holly F, Matamata, January 2016
“Thank you both for sharing this beautiful place with us.
All the wonderful extras like the food, soaps, etc. were all very special.
Peaceful surroundings, great hosts and a most comfortable cottage = a very special holiday break!
Thanks also to the Hawkes Bay for the amazingly windy night last night – spectacular! And then this morning – sunshine on the lambs and their mums.”

“Thanks so much for an awesome time in a serene country setting, it was so peaceful and beautiful.
Awesome hospitality, we enjoyed dinner at the local Chook and Filly, very friendly environment. The local wineries and wine tasting were brilliant and definitely recommended.
All the special little personal touches made it that little bit more nostalgic. Home-made marmalade and shortbread, the soaps were a real treat. Thank you. We will be back and recommend you to friends and family.”

A huge thank you to our recent visitors for the lovely comments written in our Visitors Book. We’ll include an extract here:
“… Enjoy the quiet and beauty of this place as much as you can. Here are some of the things we did when spending five days at Gallery Cottage:
– Day trip to Napier visiting the Art Deco city centre, the National Aquarium and Bluff Hill
– Walking at Te Mata Park
– Wineries such as Sileni, Elephant Hill, Church Road and Mission Estate; but there are so many to discover
– Hastings and Havelock North are cute little towns to stroll around
– Reading and sipping some wine at the cottage is perfect!
Jonathan and Judith are great hosts who care for every detail in the cottage.
I am grateful I found such a lovely place to stay!”

Fabulous spot with even more fabulous hosts. Thank you so much for letting us use your wonderful cottage for me and my bridal party to get ready at for my wedding – it was perfect!!! I know everyone had a wonderful stay =)

We stayed at Gallery Cottage for the first few days of 2014. This place is special. Beautifully appointed with everything you could possibly need, and so spacious, I have never seen such a big place just for two.
A fantastic place to relax and make a base for exploring Hawkes Bay. Slip down the road to Sileni Vineyard – try their sparkling Pinot Gris – perfect on a warm evening as you plan where to eat out, or before an easy meal at the cottage.
Don’t hesitate folks! This may be a bit away from the coast but the peace and quiet, and the light and airy cottage made this the perfect holiday spot.

My boyfriend and I spent a fantastic few days staying in this cottage. It’s a spacious cottage equipped with everything you could need and has great views over the surrounding countryside. It made an ideal base for exploring the local area including art deco Napier, climbing Te Mata Peak and cycling around the vineyards. The owners Jonathan and Judith were very welcoming and are knowledgeable about the local area. I would definitely stay there again.

We recently spent an idyllic five nights staying in this fabulous country cottage, the owners Jonathan and Judith were perfect hosts, nothing was too much trouble, when we arrived we found the fridge filled with all the essentials including fresh eggs from their own chickens. The cottage is equipped with everything you could wish for and is beautifully presented. Everything is done to the highest standard, the decoration both internally and externally is immaculate and is complemented by the tasteful contemporary furnishings. The five nights we spent at the cottage were a highlight of our New Zealand holiday, we enjoyed every moment we were there! We are definitely going to return for another visit!

My friend and I stayed in Gallery Cottage at the end of January 2013 for 5 nights. What a beautiful, spotlessly clean, well appointed holiday cottage in a lovely setting surrounded by fields with views to hills/mountains beyond. You can’t fail to relax as soon as you open the front door. Well equipped for self catering if that’s what you want to do. Leisurely breakfasts on the patio – bliss! Jonathan and Judith are welcoming and helpful and have the right balance of being there if you need anything and giving you your privacy. Thoroughly recommended.

I stayed at Gallery Cottage recently and would like say what a great time we had. The cottage was very comfortable for my wife, two young children and I. We all had a most relaxing time and found it an ideal base to explore the local area. The hosts, Judith and Jonathan are lovely and made us feel extremely welcome. We shall certainly be visiting again when we are in the area.
